When is a notary needed?
For the listed bill of sale forms, MVD says notarization is required when the form includes a notary section. Some MVD signatures may instead be acknowledged by an MVD customer service representative or authorized agent, depending on the form and transaction. A vehicle power of attorney must be witnessed by an MVD agent or notarized under MVD's title and registration guidance.
