About notarization
Some family court papers require a sworn verification or specific signature procedure. A notary can perform an eligible notarial act when the document calls for one, but a stamp is not automatically required for every item listed here. The court may permit another form of verification in some circumstances. Do not sign a document intended for notarization before the appointment.
